Using strategy and mentoring to empower those in the creative industries to flourish creatively and commercially.
Come as you are with your talents and ideas, your concerns and doubts. Leave feeling encouraged, challenged and with a plan of how to reach your business or career potential.
If you are ready to see a real change in your business or creative career then one to one consultancy or mentoring may well be the right fit for you. I work with creative entrepreneurs and business owners like you to bring your ideas to life. I want to support you to thrive at what you are good at and tackle those areas where you aren’t so confident. It’s all about pithy, actionable commercial advice tailored to you, your idea, your business.
I offer consultancy and mentoring which I believe have slightly different functions. To me, consultancy is about reviewing the current situation and making observations and giving advice on how that situation could be changed and improved for the better and then leaving you to get on with it. Mentoring is about accountability, supporting you through that process of change step by step and committing to the journey.
Here are just a few examples of consultancy projects that you might feel you need help with:
clarifying the vision for your business or career
testing if your business idea is a good one
identifying who your client is and nurturing them
managing your position in the marketplace and taking a healthy view of competition
getting on top of your finances
hiring a team and building a culture
tackling the operational side of the business
starting to look at how you can use your business for good
designing a sales strategy using branding, marketing and PR
Here are some areas that would take on a mentoring relationship:
designing a road map for real growth (otherwise known as a business plan!) and putting it into action
sustaining your creativity as a founder of a growing business or career
struggling with procrastination, perfectionism or confidence
tackling time management
feeling in need of accountability
Each week we discuss a specific business topic and invite fantastic creatives to join me and share their stories, experience and advice! Recently we have looked at company culture, seeking creative inspiration, growing your business as a whole, handling the competition and comparison and so much more. Guests have come from a wide variety of creative industries - interiors, ceramics, fashion, craft brewing, floristry, food and travel. For those not quite ready to take on one to one consulting or mentoring, I share a thought for the day each morning on Instagram. It might be a quick boost for the day or great things to read or listen to, features on great brands and client profiles.
